The ACE stall at the Family Learning Day.

Meet the winners of the ACE Treasure Tree hunt – Tom and Esther (above). Well done to them and to all the children who took part at the recent Family Learning Day at Aylsham High School.

Children were asked to choose a spot where hidden treasure might be on a picture of a tree with an Aylsham town centre backdrop. Prizes were two insect houses for the garden, from Creative Lincs, in Aylsham.

The ACE stall included information from the ACE Waste group, with a display of plastic rubbish, poster facts on the effect of micro- plastic on seabirds and the environment, and a ‘How steady is your hand?’ challenge with eco-friendly plastic pens as a reward.

Our thermal imaging camera was on hand, which proved very popular with people interested to see how much heat they were giving off. ACE volunteers were there to offer information about heat loss from homes, and how this simple device can help.

If you want to check where your house is losing heat and by how much, please contact the  Energy group.

Grateful thanks to Monica Harding for organising such a successful day.
