The 1 Million Trees for Norfolk team is happy to announce the launch of a scheme that is available to everyone – including individuals, schools, community groups, businesses and landowners.
We are offering up to 50 per cent subsidy on the cost of five different types of tree packs (tall trees, smaller trees, trees for wildlife, hedgerow, and orchard trees). This is an important opportunity for individuals and landowners who have not normally been able to get help with tree planting as they cannot evidence community benefit. These trees can also be planted in gardens and private land, as well as shared public spaces where applicants have permission.
Trees come in packs of 10, 20 or 125, so people can explore splitting them up and sharing them with family, friends or the local community.
Please note – this is not possible with orchard packs which have been carefully selected for pollinator partners and must be planted together.
The 1 Million Trees project aims to enable one million trees to be planted in Norfolk over five years. This year we hope people will want to get involved by planting trees, hedges, and orchards to mark the Jubilee. There are 40,000 trees available to plant. The application form is open now, but trees will be ready to collect and plant in this year’s planting season between December 2022 and February 2023.
