We regret to announce that Jerome Mayhew MP for Broadland, has cancelled our forthcoming public meeting as he has Covid. (See below.)
We will reschedule this meeting once Mr Mayhew has recovered.

Mr Mayhew had agreed to answer environment questions at a public event in Aylsham Town Hall on Friday 13 October at 7pm

Organised by Aylsham Climate Emergency (ACE), a committee of the Town Council, the event is an unprecedented opportunity to ask our Member of Parliament what action we can expect in the UK, and in particular, Broadland.

Members of the public can learn about the government’s policy on climate change, what the role of the UK is in combatting this global crisis, and what kind of assistance can be offered to households to help cut carbon emissions.

The meeting will be mediated by ACE Chair Grizelda Tyler, who said: “Climate change is the most important problem of our age. We owe it to generations coming after us to do whatever we can to try and slow it down. I feel that Jerome Mayhew, as our MP, needs to explain to his constituents what his government intends to do about it.”

Mr Mayhew has worked in Broadland as a director of an agricultural company, “learning about farming and the opportunities that green energy brings to our region.”

On the Conservative website, he promises to “champion the needs of rural communities as I understand how they’re often forgotten.”

If you have a question to put to Mr Mayhew relating to climate change, please bring it to the meeting in writing with your name on it. Questions will be drawn out of a hat at random.

The meeting will start promptly at 7pm, so please try to be in your seats by 6.50pm – it promises to be a packed programme.
