Tickets for the screening of two documentaries about river restoration, Riverwoods and Re-Wiggling Rivers at Aylsham Town Hall on Saturday 6 November are now on sale for £3 at Postles in the Market Place, at the door or by contacting us here.
Doors open at 6.15pm. There will be a bar and food. The event includes a panel of speakers representing different perspectives on rivers, biodiversity and farming who will discuss soil and river health.
Three years in the making, the feature-length Riverwoods film, produced by Riverwoods partner Scotland: The Big Picture and narrated by Peter Capaldi, shines a light on the perilous state of Scotland’s salmon, and tells the compelling story of a fish that once lived in the forest. And in the soil that feeds the forest. And in the predators, scavengers and even herbivores of the forest. Scotland’s Atlantic salmon – the King of Fish – is not only the ultimate angler’s prize, but a key building block in a complex forest ecosystem.
Re-Wiggling Rivers explores how restoring previously straightened waterways has benefited the local environment and returned wildlife to the river.
