ACE Waste are relaunching their scheme to help you recycle more of the waste we all produce.

This follows the end of the free recycling programmes being offered by Terracycle and continued demand for toothbrush and stationary recycling.

The medicine tablet blister pack recycling scheme continues to grow with more than 40kg a month being collected. Financial donations coming in alongside these help to make the cost of recycling financially sustainable.

This scheme is going to be expanded to enable us to take pens and other stationary items as well as toothbrushes, toothpaste tubes and other dental health items on the same basis.

Can I still bring other things that ACE used to recycle?

Unfortunately, due to the closure of recycling schemes and misuse, the wheelie bin collection point in the St Michaels churchyard has had to be discontinued. Some of the items it used to collect can still be recycled for free at the following locations:

  • Stamps, printer cartridges and spectacles – In small bins located inside St Michaels Parish Church.
  • Marigold washing up gloves – The three locations listed above
  • See other recycling options on the website here

Is it free to recycle these?

The dental, stationery and medicine tablet blister pack schemes are paid for by donations from those who use the scheme. It costs about £2 a kilo to recycling these at present but we are working hard to get the cost down as low as possible. If you can, please make a financial contribution in the collection tin at the above drop off locations that will help us to be able to continue to provide this service.
