A comprehensive list and map of the main Aylsham recyling points has now been produced by the group.

REMEMBER: Batteries, clothing and small electrical items can also be put out with your bins on any normal collection day in a plastic bag (which WILL also get recycled).

Appliance Batteries can be recycled, during opening hours, at:

  • St Michael’s Church, Market Square
  • Marks and Spencers, BP Service Station, Burgh Road
  • JB Postles, Market Square
  • Coop Stores, Market Square
  • Tesco, Norwich Road
  • Budgens, Norwich Road

Batteries can also be put out with your bins on any normal collection day in a plastic bag (which WILL also get recycled).

Bicycle Inner Tubes can be recycled at Aylsham Cycles, Red Lion Street, during shop open hours.

Bottles & Mixed Glass can be recycled in the bottle banks at:

  • Mileham Drive Recreation Ground
  • Bure Valley Railway

Bric-a-Brac can be recycled at St Michaels Church, by donating to the weekly clothing, bric-a-brac and books sale held on Mondays.

Brita Water Filters can be recycled at JB Postles, Market Square, during shop open hours.

Paper & Cardboard can be recycled in the appropriate bins at:

  • Aylsham High School, Sir Williams Lane (when school playground/car park is open)
  • Bure Valley School, Hungate Street
  • Aysham Care Trust (ACT), St Michael’s Avenue

Clothing & Shoes can be recycled at:

  • Aylsham High School, Sir Williams Lane (when school playground/car park is open)
  • Bure Valley School, Hungate Street
  • St Michaels CofE VA Primary School, School Lane
  • Fire Station Yard, Cawston Road/Holman Road
  • Bure Valley Railway, Norwich Road

  • St Michael’s Church, Market Square
  • Tesco, Norwich Road

Light Bulbs can be recycled during open hours at JB Postles, Market Square.

Medicines can be recycled during open hours at:

  • Aylsham Chemist, Market Square
  • Willows Pharmacy, Norwich Road
  • Hungate Street Dispensary, Hungate Street
  • Market Surgery, Norwich Road

Medicine tablet blister packs

  • Quaker refill stall, first Saturday of the month, Aylsham Market Place or
  • Earthglade, Aylsham Market, Mondays and Fridays.

Plastic Bottles can be refilled with soap and laundry products on the first Saturday morning each month at the Quakers stall, Market Square.

Plastic Plant Pots can be recycled during open hours at Woodgate Nursery, Cawston Road.

Sharps can be recycled during opening hours, in the yellow boxes, at:

  • Willows Pharmacy, Norwich Road
  • Hungate Street Dispensary, Hungate Street
  • Market Surgery, Norwich Road

Contact lenses and packaging can be recycled at Cecil C Amey Opticians,  Market Square

Used postage stamps can be recycled at St Michael’s Church during open hours.

Towels can be recycled for use with hedgehogs during hibernation at Wagtails Pet Shop, Blofield Loke, during open hours.
